Shane McMahon is an American-born professional wrestler, businessman and TV personality. Among several other business interests, he is a partner in the leading professional wrestling media company WWE. He is the storyline commissioner of the weekly WWE television show SmackDown Live.

A member of the fourth generation of the McMahon dynasty of wrestling promoters, Shane McMahon began working in the WWE company’s warehouse as a teenager. He also served as a referee, announcer, and producer before finally becoming a performer on the big screen. As a professional wrestler, Shane McMahon won both the European Championship and the Hardcore Championship. He retired from WWE in January 2010 but returned to the company as a screen character in February 2016.

After graduating, he received his college education at Boston University, where he studied economics and communications.

As a teenager, Shane McMahon worked for WWE, where he was an employee in the company’s merchandise store. From the late 1980s, he served as a WWE referee under the stage name Shane Stevens. He has led a number of high-profile events, including WrestleMania VI, the 1991 Royal Rumble game, and the WrestleMania VIII.

In the late 1990s, Shane McMahon, who also served as a senior executive, became a regular figure at the WWF (now WWE). He is the son of popular wrestling promoter and business mogul Vince McMahon and his wife Linda McMahon, who is also a professional wrestling magnate. In the world of professional wrestling, the McMahons are considered royalty.

The first McMahon known to have been active in wrestling was Jess McMahon, the great-grandfather of Shane McMahon. In 1953, Jess McMahon co-founded the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, and upon his death, the company passed to his son Vincent J. McMahon, the grandfather of Shane McMahon. Shane McMahon is married to film producer and former TV presenter Marissa Mazzola. Their relationship is something of a fairy tale, as the two have known each other since childhood. According to Shane, his wife Marissa is the only friend he has ever had. The marriage was consummated on September 14, 1996. Marissa Mazzola founded the production company Kamala Films in 2005. Before that, she was head of public relations for the WWE.

The couple has 3 children together. On 13 February 2004, they welcomed their first child, a son named Declan James.
