Steven Rinella’s Biography

Steven Rinella was born on February 14, 1974, in Twin Lake, Michigan, where he was raised by his parents, Rosemary Johnson and the late Frank J. Rinella, along with his older brothers Daniel and Matthew Rinella. As someone who grew up with hunting and fishing, it is no wonder that he discovered talents for nature thanks to his father. But in addition to catching his first squirrel at age eight or shooting his first deer at 13, Rinella began reading books like the historical tale and tall tales about the American wilderness at a very young age.

He graduated from Reeth’s Puffer High School in 1992 and four years later he graduated from Grand Valley State University with a college degree in December 1996. Rinella also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Montana-Missoula, from where he left with a career as a writer and host of outdoor and adventure travel.

Steven Rinella’s stepfather is Paul R. Johnson. His father, Frank J. Rinella, died in 2002.

Career

Rinella’s career as a writer and television presenter has been a steady success from the beginning. His weekly half-hour MeatEater series is based on his hunting adventures inside and outside the United States and in places like New Zealand, Mexico, Montana, Alaska, Arizona, California, and many other explorable areas.

In each show, the spirited author offers insights into the lifestyle of the hunter and features a defiant hunter who acts as the steward of the land and guardian of the chosen prey.

The series, which has completed its sixth season, also includes the preparation of wild food and the art of cooking and preserving the hunted.

Steven Rinella is credited with more than ten books that have earned him wide recognition and awards. So far he is the author of:

In his New York Post, Steven Rinella cited four reasons why he loves hunting – because he enjoys it; for the peace of mind that comes from maintaining an interactive relationship with nature; to show his children the practical benefits of practical self-sufficiency; and because the meal produced by his efforts tastes better than a meal produced by the effort of someone else.

Family – Wife & Brothers

Rinella’s marriage to his wife Catherine Finch inspired How I Met My Complete Opposite on the glamour side. The couple met at one of the meetings for the sale of their first book, and Katie was the advertising director of The Weinstein Company’s book division.

They were married on July 12, 2008, in a ceremony held on a Saturday night in Fennville, Michigan, and currently enjoy a stable lifestyle as parents of three young children.

Rinella and his brothers share a close relationship, which can be seen in the second season of MeatEater: Hunting in the Mountains. The travel writer described his older brother Matthew as an unstoppable force in the hunting ground. On several occasions, fishing with his other brother Daniel becomes a great adventure.
