Risk, danger, pain; are not words that normal people should normally address. But the truth is we’re all wired differently. While the prospect of danger and risk discourages most people from taking further action, for people like Matt Graham, it is exactly what they live for. Perhaps the adrenaline rush is the main motivation for his existence.

Matt Graham Bio

Matt was born in Utah in 1974. At the tender age of 7, his curiosity was aroused when he flipped through the pages of books describing the life of Native Americans. He was fascinated by the primitive tools they used and hoped to master their lifestyle. By the age of 15, Matt had already developed a penchant for adventure and trained to become a rock climber and triathlete.

In an interview, he recalls how he fell in love with forest life during a family vacation in a family cabin in the mountains. He admits that he is bored by the modern social lifestyle without contact with nature, trees, animals, and other elements of natural life. At the age of 23, he already set the record of covering 1700 miles across the Californian ridge in 58 days.

During his months of forest adventures, Matt uses bows and arrows to hunt deer and uses his primitive traps to track rabbits and squirrels. He also enjoys wild greens, buffalo berries, and pine nuts. To experience the feeling of adventure, he goes fishing and uses fish as bait to catch more fish.

While the job titles of the other doctors, politicians, and computer programmers are “doctors”, Matt Graham calls himself a primitive survival expert. I bet you’ve never heard that. But for a man who spends six months of the year in the wilderness exploring the nature and life of dangerous animals, it may be difficult to find a better job description for him.

Graham is co-host of the Discovery Channel’s reality TV show “Dude, You’re Screwed”. He is also co-host of the survival show Dual Survival for the final part of the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons. In 2016, Graham joined the cast of National Geographic Channel’s Live Free or Die.

Matt has mastered rare types of spear use and is adept at using various weapons to survive. He also masters the longbow, is a professional in Judo, Do, TaeKwon, Wushu Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, and all kinds of primitive fighting techniques you can imagine. For a man wandering in the wilderness, you can be sure that this range of skills will be useful from time to time. Matt’s threshold of pain and adventure must be truly overwhelming. If there was a known calibration, an upper limit of pain tolerance, it would be fun to know where he is on that scale. He runs 50 miles a day for breakfast over a period of 6 months, how is that even possible?

Apart from the more primitive adventures, Matt has other facets of his professional life that look more attractive to the average person. He is part of the Ansari Outdoor Program, which is a therapy project for newcomers. He is an instructor for the Canadian cadets and the young Marines and often organizes many upscale training courses for those interested in wild adventures.

Matt Graham is not only combative and strong, but he is also the author of the book – Epic Survival, in which he writes about his survival experiences.

Is Matt Graham Married? Wife

It’s really interesting to note that Matt was never in a known relationship. No spouse, no children. That shouldn’t be surprising, considering the unconventional and risky life he chose. How many partners will be able to cope with a man who lives in the forest for more than six months every year and takes all known forms of dangerous adventures?
