Justine Karain first met her husband Patrick Reed at Augusta State University, where he had transferred from the University of Georgia. The couple met for a time before Reed proposed on January 9, 2012, the same night that their beloved Louisiana State University soccer team played in the national title game. A few months later, on December 21, 2012, they exchanged vows. At that time, she decided to leave nursing and work as a caddie to stay close to her husband.

Karain worked as a caddie for her husband for two years before she gave up the role because of her pregnancy. The couple then welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Windsor Wells, born May 22, 2014, and three years later they added another member to their family, a son named Barrett Benjamin, born December 6, 2017.

Other Facts about Justine Karain

She Is Not Close To Her In-Laws

While Justine Karain’s parents are very close to her and her husband and often accompany him on his travels, Reed’s parents are alienated from the couple because they were not even invited to the wedding.

According to reports, the feud came about after Reed’s parents objected to their son Karain, who is four years older than him, marrying. They reportedly felt that the couple, and their son, in particular, were too young at the time to be legally bound. In another report, Reed’s parents’ aversion to Karain stems from their social media posts about her mental and physical abuse of the golfer. She is said to have said that they regarded him only as their “food stamp”.

Her Brother Took Over as Caddie for her Husband

As mentioned above, Justine Karain stopped working as her husband’s caddie after she became pregnant. The position vacated by the former high school athlete was then filled by her brother Kessler Karain, who had no experience in this role. Kessler reportedly left his job in medical sales to take on the role he enjoyed and learned more about overtime. Since then, he has overseen his brother-in-law’s first major win at the 2018 Masters Tournament, where Reed had the chance to be the first player in the tournament’s history to complete four rounds in the 1960s, but still managed to score a 71.
