Julian Edelman is a famous American football player widely known for his exploits in the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL).
Edelman holds the Patriots’ franchise record for the longest return and most returned punt in touchdowns, which was a key figure in the team’s offense. This was evident in the playoffs and the Patriots’ two wins in the Super Bowl. Julian Edelman was born on May 12, 1986, in Redwood City, California, the son of Angela and Frank Edelman. His ancestry is said to be Greek, English, Scottish, Irish, Ashkenazi-Jewish, and German. He was brought up as a Christian.
Edelman attended Woodside High School in California. After high school, he spent a year at the College of San Mateo before moving to Kent State University where he studied business administration.

Edelman began playing American football while still in high school. He was the quarterback for Woodside High School. In 2004 he led the school’s football team to a 13-0 victory. His high school career ended with 2,237 yards, 29 touchdowns in passing, 964 yards, and 13 touchdowns in the grass.
Edelman’s love of soccer did not end in high school. In the little time, he was there, he played for San Mateo College. He played 1,312 yards and 14 touchdowns before moving to Kent State University to study business administration.
At Kent State University, he was a quarterback for three years. He later became the leading passer of the Golden Flashes, scoring nearly 60% of the passes (56% to be exact – 153 of 275 passes over 1,820 yards), 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also became a leading rusher, winning 1,370 yards on 215 attempts (averaging 6.4 yards per carry) and scoring 13 touchdowns. It is said that these numbers broke Joshua Cribbs’ 2003 school record for one season.
In 2009 Edelman joined the New England Patriots. In August of the same year, he scored his first professional points in a pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles but was unable to continue the season due to a broken arm.
A few years later (2013) Edelman became a hero when he scored both New England Patriots touchdowns in a 23-21 win over the Buffalo Bills. He became the NFL leader with 13.0 yards per lap on the average of the point returns in his career, surpassing the 12.8-yard average of former Chicago Bear George McAfee.
The following year Edelman played 14 games for the Patriots, scoring 92 receptions for 972 yards and 4 touchdowns. He finished the 2016 season with 98 catches and scored receptions for 98 yards.
In 2017, Edelman reviewed a two-year contract extension with the Patriots for $11 million. While this extended his stay on the team and satisfied a large part of the New England Patriots’ fan base, many were disappointed when it turned out that the 2017 season did not end well for the wide receiver. He suffered an ACL injury during the New England Patriots preseason game against the Detroit Lions. For this reason, he will not participate in the 2018 Super Bowl game. Too bad, huh?
