Joshua Otis Turner was born on November 20, 1977, in Hannah, South Carolina, as Joshua Otis Turner. Since the earliest years of his life, Josh has been performing and writing songs.

The entertainer, often described as a devout Christian, spent most of the first days of his life participating in church activities. He was so passionate about singing that he formed a gospel group of four singers. Given this fact, and the kind of music Josh is making today, it was suggested, albeit subtly, that the man had strayed from his original course. But Josh insisted that it was his dream to become a country musician. For him, it was God’s plan that he should be a singer of Christain and not a gospel musician.
Josh Turner attended Hannah Pamplico High School in his hometown. To further his education, he became a student at Francis Marion University, but left soon after and went to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout his studies, Josh kept his passion for music alive, his breakthrough came after college in December 2001 when he performed on the Grand Ole Opry for the first time. If Josh Turner had a romantic affair before he met his wife, it was completely overshadowed by the bond he shares with Jennifer Ford. The entertainer was married to Miss Ford in 2003, and as far as we know, they had a happy marriage.
They say they met at Belmont University in Nashville. Josh confirmed this in his book Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family, and Fatherhood, published in 2014. Although Jennifer slowed down the pace of the relationship because it took quite a while before she considered Josh her boyfriend, their emotional bond with each other grew stronger and stronger. When Josh was convinced that she was the perfect partner for him, he asked her to become his wife; this happened in November 2002. We learned that the proposal was very much an expression of love. The two of them were at a picnic in Nashville’s Percy Priest Lake when the musician performed a song he had written for Jennifer and then fell to one knee.
Josh Turner went on to say in his book that his marriage, though not without problems, was a beautiful one. The star and his wife feel blessed to have more than just each other. Their marriage was blessed with four sons – Colby Lynch, Marion Crawford, Hampton Otis, and Samuel Hawke.
Of course, Turner did a good job with Jennifer Ford in building his own family. He learned most of the values that helped him run his own home smoothly as a member of the Joe-Karen Turner family. Other members of the family are his brother Matt Turner and his sister, Carrie Turner.
