Ian Michael Kinsler was born on June 22, 1982, in Tucson, Arizona. He was brought up as a Jew because of his Jewish father, Howard Kinsler. Ian was greatly influenced by Howard, who once played basketball at the University of Arizona and also worked as the warden of a state prison. At a very young age, his father began training him in this sport and was a strict coach. As for education, Ian Kinsler was enrolled at Canyon del Oro High School in the suburb of Tucson, Oro Valley, Arizona. During his school years, between 1997 and 2000, he helped lead the baseball team to state titles. Collegiate Career

In 2000, right out of high school, the Arizona Diamondbacks offered Kinsler a job in the 29th grade, but he turned it down because he wanted to play college football before turning pro. He also got the chance to play shortstop with future players like Rich Harden, Scott Hairston, etc., and earned a second-team All-ACCAC. It happened to be the game in which he beat his first Major League “at bat”.

In November 2013, he was then transferred to the Detroit Tigers, a move that resulted from a one-to-one trade between the All-Stars. The next trade went to the Los Angeles Angels, on December 13, 2017, and later, on July 30, 2018, Ian signed with the Boston Red Sox.
