Fabian Delph, who began his football career as a teenager in Bradford City, has achieved so much for himself and has committed himself as one of the most accomplished English football professionals of his time.

Fabian Delph Bio

Delph has generally played as a midfielder and left-back and from 2008 to 2010 he successfully played four games for the English U21 team, starting with Bradford City before moving to Leeds United Youth Academy, where he spent three years and played 45 games. During his time in Leeds, Delph received his first Young Player of the Year award at the 2008-2009 Football League Awards, and at the same time received awards such as Young Player of the Season, Goal of the Season, and Player of the Year.

From Leeds to Aston Villa, the England midfielder and left-back, born on 21 November 1989, continued to make a name for himself after signing a contract with the league for an undisclosed sum. Although he was struggling for a place on the starting eleven due to the high level of competition at Aston Villa, Delph proved his worth when he scored the first goal for the league in an FA Cup match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 23 January 2010. Under his new contract, Delph has played against clubs such as Everton, Liverpool, and Chelsea, leading to him being voted Player of the Year by Aston Villa supporters.

Following his outstanding performances in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons, Villa decided on 25 January 2015 to sign another four-and-a-half-year contract with Delph and keep him with the club until 2019. During his contract extension, he was captain for the first time during the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on 30 May 2015 and signed a five-year contract with Premier League club Manchester City. He then debuted for Man City in a 2015 International Champions Cup match against Spain’s Real Madrid and scored his first goal for Manchester City against Southampton on 28 November 2015. His most notable moment, however, came when he played for the club 14 consecutive times in the 2017-18 season. This led to his appointment to the 23-man England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Fabian Delph Parents

Fabian Delph was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. He was born the son of his mother Donna Delph, who according to Delph has been his strongest supporter since the beginning of his football career. His childhood dream was always to buy his mother a house, which he succeeded in doing a few years ago. Although there is no information about his father and siblings, Abbott, currently Deputy Manager in Notts County, who knew Delph’s family, clearly credited Donna Delph with guiding Fabian Delph on the right path, despite the fact that he lives in one of Bradford’s most difficult areas, where unhealthy relationships can lead people astray. Even when he was having his hard times, including the serious injury that set him back quite a bit, he mentioned that his mother was there for him along with other family members and that he is now one of the remarkable footballers whose role on the pitch could not be overlooked.
