Eric Benét Jordan was born on 15 October 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the youngest of five children. When Eric was younger, he formed a band called Benét with his older sister Lisa and George Nash Jr – his cousin. The band released its first album in 1992, which sold over 100,000 copies.
Almost two years later Eric reappeared on the music scene as a solo artist and signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records.
