Zelina Vega Bio
She is of Puerto Rican descent and was born in Queens, New York on December 27, 1990. This makes her an American citizen. Zelina Vega grew up in a family that loved sports; she played baseball, practiced swimming, and often watched wrestling with her father Michael and brother Timothy. Her parents later divorced, when she and her brother were tender with each other but still kept in touch.
At the age of 17, Zelina Vega decided to pursue a career in wrestling, and so she began training under Javi-Air, Azrieal, and T.J. Perkins. She learned quickly, and soon she was ready to make her professional wrestling debut. Vega debuted on February 20th, 2010 with the ring name “Divina Fly” at the National Wrestling Superstars (NWS) Bloomfield, New Jersey. However, she started with a series of defeats but soon adopted a good fighting form.
Zelina Vega was discovered by Tommy Dreamer, who brought her to Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, Impact in 2011, where she signed for promotion with the ring name “Rosita”. She also formed a tag team with Sarita, with whom she fought and defeated Love and Winter to win the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship on March 13, 2011, to celebrate her first title win.
Between the second half of 2011 and 2016, Zelina fought in promotions and championships such as Family Wrestling Entertainment, FWE Women’s Championship, Global Force Wrestling (GFW), and Shine Wrestling, all in preparation for her debut in WWE, which is the highlight for all aspiring female wrestlers around the world.
By June 2017, Zelina Vega had made this dream a reality by signing a contract with the WWE, starting training at the WWE Performance Center, and forming alliances. She established herself as the manager for Andrade Cien Almas, which proved to be successful, as the two of them were able to record several victories. In April 2018, however, the two had to separate after suffering a series of defeats.
Zelina has also tried her hand at acting; she starred in 2012 in the film Dorothy and the Witches of Oz, the critically acclaimed documentary Children of 9/11, and is expected to play the role of AJ Lee in the future fighting film Fighting with My Family.
