Steve Trevino’s Biography
Steve Treviño, as his name is pronounced, was born in 1979 in Gregory-Portland, Texas, in the United States. He grew up in this district and nurtured his talent as a comedian from childhood on. Soon it became a hobby to make people laugh and he got a head start when he told jokes at his talent show to the second grade.
There is no complete record of his educational background, but Trevino was like any other ordinary American who had a normal job to earn a living. First, he got a job as a bouncer at Addison Improv until he got the chance to perform as House MC.
In 1998 Trevino had his first professional appearance in Corpus Christi at the opening of the Harbor Playhouse for Carlos Mencia when he was nineteen years old. With big plans and dreams, he arrived in Dallas and soon after landed his first tour with The Three Amigos, a comedy tour with Pablo Francisco and the late Freddy Soto, whose comedy style was compared to that of Steve Trevino.
Before that, his work as house MC Addison Improv opened up more possibilities, as big acts traveled around the club. Trevino later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he continued to rise and eventually became one of the youngest comedians to head the Improv Comedy Club and travel the nation with the comedy franchise.
Over the years he has appeared in television series including the first season of Mind of Mencia (2005), La Esquina (2007), Steve Trevino: Grandpa Joe’s Son (2012), and Steve Trevino: Relatable (2014), which was streamed on Netflix. When he’s not touring or working on the big screen, he can be seen performing at the Comedy Store, Improv, Laugh Factory, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, etc. His first one-hour comedy special was filmed and broadcast on Showtime on October 4, 2012, during the LOL Comedy Festival.
The Doghouse Comedy Jam in Francisco was one of Trevino’s biggest performances along with big names in the comedy world such as Dave Attell, Carlos Mencia, Jamie Foxx, and Dave Chappelle. He also collaborates with organizations such as Free Reign, Rozone Productions, the heavy metal band Dallas Cowboys, and participated in a comedy special for Showtime. He has also collaborated with writers such as Brian Hartt and producers Vic Kaplan and David Himelfarb on a sitcom project.
He owes his success to the people in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Gregory, Portland, South Texas. For those who haven’t seen his show, Trevino once said that his life, his wife, his child, and his family are at stake.
His Wife and Family
Gregory is a family man and happily married to his wife Renae Smith Trevino. There are no details of how they met or when they were married, but the couple has a son and looks forward to adding another baby to the family tree soon. Both never miss an opportunity to share their fun on Instagram.
Although they have moved to different places a few times, Steve Trevino, aka “Texas Trevino”, as far as we know, now lives on the West Coast in Hollywood, California, living his childhood dream of being a stand-up comedian.
Steve Trevino’s net worth has steadily increased, but there are too many sources quoting different figures. His net worth is currently estimated at a whopping $20 million. He is not only a decorated comedian but also a writer and producer.
