How Did Jessica Olsson and Dirk Nowitzki Meet?

Jessica Olsson and Dirk Nowitzki may be a lovely couple at the moment, but their love story could be traced back to 2010 when the couple first met. Their love story is so amazing that so many versions of it have been told over time. At first, Dirk and Jessica seemed to be two worlds apart until love happened to them sometime in 2010.

Their shared love of philanthropy brought them together, so the story goes. Dirk attended the 2010 Sports for Education and Economic Development (SEED) charity event where he met Jessica, who was also present. Dirk immediately took a liking to the pretty Jessica Olsson and lost no time in telling her his intentions.

Jessy, on the other hand, took his advances kindly and after a while, they started to date. They seemed to have the same preferences and opinions in many things and so their relationship blossomed. After two years of dating, they decided to seal their love in marital bliss.

Details About Their Wedding Ceremony And Public Reactions

On 20 July 2012 Jessica and Dirk walked down the aisle. The couple understood and respected each other’s origins and celebrated their wedding ceremony in both Germany and Kenya. They had a traditional Kikuyu wedding in Kenya where the bride wore a traditional Kikuyu robe and the groom was dressed in a dark brown traditional robe with orange tones.

The wedding, which took place in Jessica’s hometown of Nanyuki, was a new experience for the couple. About their mixed-race marriage, Dirk said at a public event that he never cares what race or color a person is, just as a team of basketball players can be made up of people of another race; he thinks his wife is his teammate and not even her race plays a role.

Although their racial difference has never been an issue for the couple, we still live in a society where people help you take care of your affairs. A year before they tied the knot, the subject of their different racial backgrounds became a very hot topic in various news media. This happened shortly after their appearance at the ESPYS, where Dirk was to receive an award as the best NBA player.

During the event, Nowitzki kissed Jessica Olsson in public, and everywhere, especially Twitter erupted like a volcano. The theme of her race was a heyday! Everyone had nothing but racial to say as if the racial marriage was a disgrace. In an interview with theundefeadted.com Nowitzki said he had never heard racist comments about him and his wife.

“Nobody ever brought it up,” he said. “Everyone who met my wife said she was great with me. So I didn’t hear any of that in my face. I’m sure some people come up with that themselves. But I’ve never heard it on my face,” he added. Well, that’s what love does to all of us, yes? You never really get to hear all those annoying rumors.

How Many Kids Do They Have?

The couple has three wonderful children together. Their first child, Malaika, was born in July 2013, followed two years later by Max in March 2015. The baby of the house, Morris, was born on November 11, 2016. Interestingly, Jessica and her husband teach their children all the languages they know, including English, German, Swedish, and a little Kenya. During the summer, the wonderful couple and their children usually visit exotic places in Kenya or Germany. According to NBA legend, they not only want their children to grow up in Dallas but also want them to experience their heritage.
