The American professional baseball player was born in 1990 under the full name of Travis Richard Shaw on April 16, 1990, at Washington Court House, Ohio, United States of America, as the son of Julie Shaw and Jeff Shaw. His father Jeff Shaw played in the MLB and twice won the All-Star Pitcher title during his baseball career.
Travis Shaw received his high school education at Washington High School, which is the same school his father attended. He went to the State University of Kent and joined the school’s baseball team. He ended his college career with a batting average of 0.307 in 63 games for his college team Golden Flashes.

In 2011 Travis Shaw made the leap into the MLB when he was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 9th round of the MLB Draft. He played his first game against the Lowell Spinners, in which he had the highest RBI, recorded 14 doubles, 8 home runs, and 34 scored runs. In the same year, he managed to get the highest bases in one game, scoring 2 walks and 3 doubles, setting a new team record. He ended the year in a Low-Class A Greenville Drive, where he set a batting record of 0.333 in two games, but the following year he moved up to the High-Class A, the Salem Red Sox, where he played superbly, scoring 0.305 hits and 0.411 base percentages and achieving the highest scores on home runs, RBI and runs, in the team that earned him another promotion to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs in August.

Travis was also named as one of the best players in the Red Sox Minor League in the 2011/2012 season, and his game made progress when he finally took first place in the Red Sox Minor League in 2014. That same year, he was ranked 19th on the MLB.com Top 20 Boston Red Sox Prospects list, and in November he was added to the list of 40 players.

At birth, Ryann was diagnosed with a critical health problem called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which means that the left part of the baby’s heart does not function well. The baby finally underwent two open-heart surgeries, which were performed on June 9 and 10, after which it remained in the hospital for four months.
