The Serbian professional basketball player, born on February 19 and in 1995 in Sombor, Serbia, is generally believed to have all the time he needs to achieve what he wants in the NBA. Growing up in a small town in northwest Serbia, Nikola spent a lot of time riding and shooting hoops. Nikola’s NBA journey Jokic began in 2014 after he was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the 41st overall winner of the NBA Draft of the Year. He lost no time to prove himself one season later when he started playing for the team. For his remarkable rookie campaign, he was appointed to the 2016 NBA All-Rookie First Team. In addition, Nikola was able to win the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in third place.

The Serb did not let his benchmark drop next season either. Among other things, he managed six triple-doubles and was voted second for the NBA Most Improved Player Award 2017. That’s not all, he was also voted second for the Assist of the Year award. In the 2017-18 season he improved on Jim Tucker’s record from 1955, Nikola managed the fastest triple-double in the league’s history. Regardless of this, he was named Player of the Week of the Western Conference several times. So it was no surprise when the Nuggets decided sometime in July 2018 to grant the Centerman a five-year contract extension worth $148 million.

His Brothers

Strahinja and Nemanja are Nikola’s brothers, and they were inseparable in every way. In fact, it is said that they all live together in a three-room apartment in Denver with Nikola’s girlfriend Natalija Macesic.

While the Denver Nuggets star is the youngest of the three brothers, Strahinja is the oldest, and they are all big fans of the game. Nemanja even went as far as playing basketball in college, he played for the University of Detroit Mercy.

The brothers were friends with the former Serbian professional basketball player Darko Milicic Despite the fact that this story has hardly been authenticated, it is believed that the friendship with Darko was the reason why Nemanja never played on a professional level. It is said that he and the former NBA star celebrated a lot, which endangered his chances for a professional basketball career.

Height, Weight, Body Measurements

Even though there are a good number of basketball players who have excelled professionally without having the ideal height and frame, it remains true that a good height and build determine a player’s performance to a great extent. For this reason, NBA stars are expected to have a high level of physical fitness. To achieve this, these players give priority to things like adequate rest, proper nutrition, and regular physical activity. The ultimate goal is to develop the muscle strength and endurance that makes a robust yet flexible player.

Fortunately, Nikola Jokic is not one of those players who wish to be bigger than they are. He is 10 inches taller than 6 feet (2.08 m), which is practically perfect for his weight of 250 lb (113.4 kg). Other details of his body measurements have yet to be confirmed.
