Her birth name is Michelle Lynn Shupack and she was born on September 20, 1986, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, United States of America.
Michelle Visage began her high school studies at an art-oriented high school in South Plainfield, New Jersey, from where she studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Manhattan. Immediately after graduating, Michelle Visage embarked on a trip to New York to begin her career as an actress, which she has continued to pursue over the years.
The lady from New Jersey, fresh out of school, auditioned for her first job in an all-girl music group called Seduction. She got a place in the group and joined the dance vocal trio that was signed to A&M Records in 1990. Under the direction of Robert Clivilles and David Cole, the group had many dance hits such as Two to Make It Right, Nothing Matters Without Love before they split up.
After the split, she worked as a guest singer with freestyle dancer TKA and performed on the song Crash (Have Some Fun). Later Michelle Visage joined another dance group put together by Clivilles & Cole called The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. The group had a cover version of Bill Withers’ song Lovely Day and called their song It’s Gonna Be a Lovely Day.
