Jordan Reed is a pro bowl tight end who plays for the Washington Redskins. The NFL Draft 2013 third-round draft candidate has had a very impressive career in the National Football League (NFL) so far and, according to some analysts, is well on his way to becoming the best in his position in the league.
Jordan Reed Bio
Jordan Reed was born in New London, Connecticut, and grew up there with his parents, Karen Reed and David Lott. He is the younger brother of the former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, David Reed, who was on the team that won the Super Bowl XLVII.
As a child, Reed and his older brother were inseparable. The two are said to have always played football together, even in school, where he played as quarterback and David as a wide receiver for New London High School. Reed’s remarkable achievements in high school were in his junior year when he completed 122 of 222 passes for 1,706 yards and 38 touchdowns. He led his team to an unbeaten regular season in that campaign and was a finalist for the Joe Montana High School Quarterback of the Year award the following year.
After graduating, Reed accepted a scholarship offer to attend the University of Florida. At the Florida Gators, Reed, who was recruited as a quarterback, fought to get the team into that position. He later moved to the tight final position, where he enjoyed considerable success for two seasons before announcing that he would give up his senior year to enter the draft. He ended his college career with 78 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns.
Jordan Reed was drafted by the Washington Redskins and finished 85th in the third round, becoming the Redskins’ first rookie to score a touchdown in the first two games of his career since Chris Cooley in 2004. On October 20, 2013, Reed recorded his first 100-yard game against the Chicago Bears. In that game, he also set a new franchise record for the Redskins receiving end yards through a rookie tight end and scored nine receptions with a career-high of 134 yards and 1 touchdown. Reed’s season was later abandoned after he suffered a concussion. However, his performances before the injury earned him a place on the all-around team of the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers of America.
In his second and third seasons, Reed continued his growth as a player, creating a series of career-related statistics on his way to a place in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016, where he finished in 77th place. At the start of the 2016 season, the Redskins rewarded Reed, who still had a rookie contract, with a five-year $50 million contract extension. The Tight End, who continued to perform impressively, went on, as usual, this time finishing 65th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017 list. He also received his first Pro Bowl nomination this season.
Who is Jordan Reed’s Wife?
Jordan Reed and his wife Danielle Newsome have been on the worst rollercoaster ride of all rollercoaster relationships to date. She is a former college athlete who was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska before moving to Florida where she earned her degree in Neuroscience from the University of Florida.
The two, whose relationship is notoriously secret because the date of their wedding is unknown, met while studying. Both had received sports scholarships, which meant that they usually spent time together, as all athletes had to train together, eat in the cafeteria, and study.
Newsome revealed that Reed was too shy to approach her, but had told other people he was interested in her. They were eventually set up by a mutual friend and then became a couple. After a few years together, Reed and Newsome got a pit bull named Ace, which they raised together. Later they got engaged and in 2014 they had a daughter named Jada. After their daughter, things became very difficult for the couple when they supposedly broke up and got their relationship under control, although they are now supposedly together again.
