Johnnie Guilbert is a vlogger, YouTube content creator, singer, songwriter, and actor. Johnnie suffered from acute dyslexia, a learning disability in children that culminates in difficulty reading despite normal intelligence. The challenges of dyslexia include difficulties in spelling words, reading quickly, writing words, pronunciation words, and understanding what is being read.
This illness drove Johnnie to depression and suicidal thoughts at the age of 9, which he followed on YouTube as an escape from the realities of his childhood. He often tells how he was also bullied in the past because he dressed differently than other children. He wore hats and tight jeans to school and looked different than everyone else in his age group.
As he grew up, Bryan Odell, also known as BryanStars, inspired Johnnie Guilbert to join YouTube. Johnnie was initially interested in alternative music, but Bryan was more interested in doing interviews with popular artists from the alternative scene.
They joined together as part of a group that created the YouTube channel “My Digital Escape”, along with other YouTubers, Kyle David Hall, Jordan Sweeto, Shannon Taylor, Jaydon Wale. He uploaded his first video “ATTACKED BY ZOMBIES!!! Johnnie Guilbert VLOG #1” on November 16, 2013. He worked with BryanStars on a series of videos and began posting regularly on his YouTube channel.

Controversy with Bryan
Controversy soon arose within the team when Bryan began to take over the station as a general manager. This was not well received by other stations, including Johnnie himself.
The episode caused the group to officially split in May 2016. A few months later, in September 2016, Bryan released a teaser on the channel “My Digital Escape”, indicating that MDE 2.0 would be launched soon. This caused quite a stir and the former group members and other celebrities who knew the original team began to criticize Bryan’s efforts.
Knowing that Johnnie was the closest thing to Bryan, fans were curious to hear his views on Bryan’s indiscretions. Finally, Johnnie explained to his fans in a video on his channel how Bryan had caused the split in the first place, without mentioning his name. He also criticized his former friend and roommate for using others to make money. Bryan finally apologized to the fans for his role in the breakup and also apologized to his former colleagues.
Johnnie released his first EP Not So Perfect on November 27, 2015, which included five songs. On November 18, 2016, he released his second EP Lost with six tracks. Johnnie Guilbert has 880k subscribers on YouTube and over one million followers on Instagram.

Johnie was born on August 28, 1997, in San Jose, California. He has one brother Josh Guilbert and one sister Margaret Guilbert. He had a difficult childhood, a time in his life when he even became suicidal and thought about killing himself more than once.
