Hugh Laurie is a popular British director, musician, singer, comedian, and actor known as Dr. House in the popular medical television series “House” and as a father in the film “Stuart Little”. The couple revealed that their marriage was a challenge in 2004 when Hugh started shooting the series “House” as he had to be away for up to nine months every year because the location was in the United States.

It was also known that Hugh Laurie was suffering from severe depression due to the absence of his wife and children, and it was so obvious that even the directors made plans to help him with his depression. However, it was said that in 2008 the couple agreed to move temporarily to the United States and be together until Hugh finished shooting. This prompted Hugh to make plans to provide a better place for himself and his family in the United States.

New rumors about their relationship surfaced when it was said that the plan to move to the United States would not be realized. The couple decided not to go through with the relocation plans, and some reports suggested that this was due to them separating, while other reports claimed that the brief extramarital affair that Hugh had had in the past while in the U.S. caused this. The couple made a statement in their defense, stating that this was due to Hugh and Green’s attachment to English education.

Hugh had told the Daily Mail at the time:

“I wouldn’t say that running the show made my marriage any easier. Better? I don’t know that either.”

There’s no doubt that the number of months Hugh had to be away from home, the shooting had some bearing on their marriage. Despite the odds, they found a way to make it work since, despite all the rumors of separation, they still stay together.

In an interview with the Standard, Joanna was asked about her husband and she said

“It is remarkable to know him. I owe him everything. He’s the real thing. Gifted, phenomenally intelligent and wise.”

The House television series ended in 2012 and Hugh Laurie returned to the UK to be with his family, ending all speculation on the divorce/divorce issue. They stay together and enjoy their marriage. They were portrayed together while traveling and on holiday.
