Because of the aura of seriousness that surrounds their profession, doctors are usually assumed to sacrifice their social life in order to be successful in their careers. Despite this stereotype, Dr. Travis Stork has managed to find a balance between his profession as an emergency physician and that of a television personality.

He graduated from medical school with excellent grades and has had remarkable appearances on top television shows such as The Bachelor, The Doctors, The Rachael Ray Show, Entertainment Tonight, and The Wendy Williams Show. Since 2008, when he took on the role of host of The Doctors, the television personality has received two Emmy nominations for the daily newspaper Daytime in recognition of his contribution to the show.

Dr. Travis Stork Bio

The American doctor was born on March 9, 1972, the son of parents – a mother and a father – who was simply identified as Donna and Roger. Further details about his family background and what it was like when he grew up are not known, but he is the first doctor to come out of his family. The available information about his educational background shows that he was a bright student with good grades at Duke University where he graduated and that he later received his medical degree, also with honors, from the University of Virginia. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Travis Stork appeared in The Bachelor, an American television series about dating and relationships. His performance was in the 8th season of the series, and in the finale, he chose teacher Sarah Stone. Unfortunately, there was to be no fairy-tale ending for the new couple, although they lived only a few blocks apart. Apparently, the closeness didn’t do them much good, as the couple ended the relationship soon after a week in which they had met on the show.

The appearance on a reality show did not have a negative impact on his studies, as Stork soon finished his residency and began practicing medicine in the emergency room of his alma mater next to a Colorado hospital.

After being nominated for the Emmy Award 2010 Daytime for outstanding talk show information, the show won this award.

Dr. Travis Stork became a member of the telemedicine company MDLIVE in October 2013. He joined the company as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, but spent only two years in this position, and resigned in March 2015.
