The family had to move in 1980 when Bianna was only 18 months old for political reasons. The Moldovan family settled in Houston, Texas, where Bianna attended high school for performing and visual arts. Later she realized that her passion was not to become an actress, but rather to bring events from around the world to the public. She discovered this after playing a role written by her teacher about AIDS in play. She later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Russian/Eastern European and Eurasian Studies and a minor in Economics.
