Allen Leech is a sensational Irish actor, probably best known for the role of Tom Branson in the historic drama series “Downton Abbey”. Leech was born on May 18, 1981, in Killiney, County Dublin, the son of David Leech, CEO of a computer systems company, and the housewife Kay Leech.
This undeniably handsome man is the third of four children, he has an older brother and sister named Greg and Ali respectively, and a younger brother, Simon.
Allen Leech’s Early Life and Career
Allen attended St Michael’s College, a Catholic boys’ school in Dublin 4, Ireland. There he developed an interest in acting at the young age of 11 when he was given the role of the Cowardly Lion in a school production of the children’s novel “The Wizard of Oz” by the American author L. Frank Baum, published in 1900.
He then discovered his love for the stage and remembered how he immediately decided to become an actor when Peter McDonald explained to him on the last evening of the production that acting is a profession.
As a result, drama became a “focal point” for Leech during his teenage years alongside his family life and he was able to get through his school years with the help of acting and the support of his family.
Although Allen Leech earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s Degree in Drama and Drama Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, he later realized that this was a “loophole” in his parents’ determination that he needed a degree to fall back on if he failed as an actor.
This talented actor made his professional acting debut on stage, with a small role in a production of Tennessee Williams’ play “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Gate Theatre in 1998. During his time at Trinity Theatre, he had his first major film appearance as Vincent Cusack in “Cowboys & Angels” and was nominated for the Irish Film & Television Awards in 2004 with his role as Mo Chara in the comedy “Man About Dog”.
Leech admitted, however, that he did little schoolwork in college because he spent his time auditioning and acting. As he starred in both Irish and American television programs and films, Allen Leech most likely became more popular after playing in the British-American-Italian historical drama “Rome” on HBO (Home Box Office), where he played the role of Marcus Agrippa.
Thanks to his amazing work in television shows and movies and his good looks, Allen Leech won millions of hearts worldwide and was voted the sexiest Irish man by U Magazine in 2005. He was also named one of the 50 best-dressed men by GQ in the UK in 2015. This proves that he is not only “hot”, but also fashionably elegant and cultured.
Is Allen Leech Gay Married? Girlfriend?
It is only natural that a popular, good-looking actor like Allen Leech attracts the attention of many people who want to know what is going on in his private life. Allen was once in a relationship with Charlie Webster, an English television host.
The duo reportedly met during a charity event in May 2014, and according to Charlie, she did not initially recognize who Allen was. She remembered what happened and said: “There is a running gag between us and the cast of Downton because I had no idea who he was when I met him.
“We were at a charity event for Centre Point in May We were playing table football and I thought, ‘He’s really lovely and very handsome and really funny, he has a good smile.
She continued, ‘We were really competitive and I beat him. We just giggled so much and laughed so much.
“Then there was a quiz and we joked a lot. I think that’s why we got along so well because we’re really similar when it comes to humor.
The couple were so close to each other and were often seen together in different places like the IWC Gala Dinner of the BFI London Film Festival.
Unfortunately, after almost a year of dating, the couple broke the hearts of fans when they revealed that they had indeed gone their separate ways in the second half of 2015. The downtown actor and the TV presenter separated due to a joint decision that was due to the couple’s desire to focus more on their individual careers.
When Allen’s career took off thanks to his role as Tom Branson in the highly popular television drama and Charlie’s career took off with an engagement at Sky Sports and Channel 4, they decided to end it.
In an interview with The Daily Mirror, Charlie explained: “We had an amazing time. There’s no bad feeling at all. We’re both very career-oriented. Downton Abbey has just finished, and he’s going to have a great career. And my career is really exciting. It was the wrong time for either of us to enter into a long-term relationship.
After shedding light on the love life of our dear Allen Leech, the gay rumors might as well be just rumors and nothing close to reality.
However, to clear the air from the horse’s mouth, this was Allen’s answer to the question of whether he was gay:
Question: “Are you behind or in front of the candelabra?”
He answered, “I’m in front of the candelabra. I see a girl. We’ve been together for a year.”
Even when asked about getting married, he replied: “I’ll let you know”.
Allen Leech Height, Body Size
Allen Leech is a tall young man with a height of 174 centimeters. That’s 5’10” and 74 centimeters. This makes him three centimeters (1.25 inches) taller than the average celebrity.
He has a perfect weight that matches his height, and that is one reason why he looks so hot. Unfortunately, there is currently no information available about his height.
